Restored Project #12
This project represent what I called a misinformation mistake?….
We face, and solved, several problems like this every year. From what I’ve heard, this happens because when a “Concrete Stainer Contractor” is called to bid in a job, that’s exactly what he does. He just bid on the job, but he do not inform or educate their potential customers about what may happen within the year from installation.
They do not tell their customers that although concrete stain is the cheapest option out there, its good looks do not last long. And, when the colors fade out, peel out, and pop up, like what happens in this project. There is nothing they can do to fix them, their customers need to live with this, uglier by day, concrete stain job.
In short, Concrete Stain is the cheaper option up front, but the expensier one in the long run. They do not tell their customers that the sealer coat won’t let the concrete surface take any more color after fading process starts, and adding another coat of sealer wouldn’t fix the color problems and will make the surface more slippery.
Although we did all the concrete work in this project we didn’t do the concrete stain job because we don’t do this type of service, and because this decorative concrete technique doesn’t last long enough to make our customer’s investment worth…
Within a year from finishing this concrete project we were called back to install our Stamped Texture Concrete Overlay System on this project…
As you can see in the “Before Pictures” of this project, all the stain has faded out, small sections has peeled out, entire areas has been popping up, and it gets very slippery when it gets wets. In less than half a year this project has gone from a decent decorative concrete to a total disaster.
As you see in all of our restored projects we can make any of our unique Stamped Texture Concrete Overlays look like new more than ten (10) years after our original installation, saving our customers more than 500% than any other product in the market.
To save this project, and add the Wow Factor to it, we grind off all the sealer coat first, then we apply our bond coat material all over the surface to get rid off the faded out concrete stain surfaces. This is a time consuming and costly procedure that may cost you more than what you normally pay for the Concrete Stain project. The cost for our Stamped Texture Concrete Overlay System is smaller than the cost to stain the concrete and then remove it.
